Abyssal Voids is a series of eight oil paintings that delve into the depths of the human condition through representations of parts of the human body: the nose, ear, mouth, anus, nipples, vagina, penis, and navel. These parts symbolize our bodily orifices — the passages through which we experience the world around us.

Often regarded as merely functional, these openings acquire a new dimension in this series. They become windows into our essence, reminding us of our vulnerability, our need for connection, and our relentless pursuit of wholeness.

These paintings go beyond mere anatomy, inviting us to explore the symbolic power of the body’s orifices. The Abyssal Voids reveal the inherent duality of our existence: while these openings may evoke a sense of emptiness, they also embody a profound yearning — an insatiable desire to fill those spaces within ourselves. They stand as tangible reminders of our incompleteness and our constant search for satisfaction, love, acceptance, and transcendence.
